Transfers

MGA does accept transferred credentials from most recognized credentialing agencies. Please see the appropriate transfer forms & requirements below.

Email the transfer form with a copy of your most current ID card to cs@medgaslicense.com for more information.

For all certifications, MGA requires a 4-hour recertification course and exam to subsequent editions of NFPA 99 by your expiration date. All expiration dates after license transfers will be either January 31st or July 31st regardless of your previous expiration dates.

ASSE 6005 – Medical Gas Systems Generalist
This standard provides general knowledge of medical gas and vacuum systems for the purpose of providing continuing education. Eligible individuals include any person with an interest in medical gas and vacuum systems and equipment.

Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems.

ASSE 6010 – Medical Gas Systems Installer
This standard applies to any individual who installs piping or components of medical gas systems including brazers and welders. Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA-99, Health Care Facilities Code.

Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems

ASSE 6020 – Medical Gas Systems Inspector
This standard applies to any individual who inspects the installation of medical gas and vacuum distribution systems.

Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems.

ASSE 6030 – Medical Gas Systems Verifier
This standard applies to any individual who tests and verifies the operation of medical gas and vacuum systems except their bulk medical gas/cryogenic fluid central supply systems. Bulk medical gas/cryogenic fluid central supply systems shall be verified by a person certified to ASSE 6035. Where a medical gas system is supplied by a bulk medical gas/cryogenic fluid central supply system, the ASSE 6030 Medical Gas Systems Verifier shall test and verify the work on the patient side of the bulk medical gas/cryogenic fluid central supply system source valve only.

Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems.

ASSE 6035 – Bulk Medical Gas Systems Verifiers
This standard applies to any individual who tests and verifies the operation of bulk or micro-bulk systems for medical gas at health care facilities.

Bulk systems for medical gas covered in this standard include health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, NFPA 55 and CGA M-1. Bulk Medical Gas System Verifier includes anyone who tests and inspects bulk medical gas systems or bulk medical gas system components.

ASSE 6040 – Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel
This standard applies to any individual who maintains medical gas and vacuum systems. Healthcare facility personnel installing medical gas or vacuum systems shall be certified to ASSE Standard 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer .

Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems.

ASSE 6050 – Medical Gas Systems Instructor
This standard applies to any individual who trains or teaches installers, inspectors, verifiers, healthcare facility maintenance personnel and in some cases designers, regarding medical gas systems in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code.

Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping systems.

ASSE 6060 – Medical Gas Systems Designer
This standard applies to any individual who designs medical gas systems, new or existing, including the layout, sizing and selection of equipment and piping, location of medical gas outlet/vacuum inlets and assessment of existing systems for resizing or replacement.
